News update May 6th 2017

Great Club night last Tuesday, with 11 mini- and junior players attending the coaching (5.00 pm to 6.00 pm) and 21 adults attending the Club night from 5.30 pm, with 13 of these attending for the adult coaching from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. REMEMBER, this free coaching is available to Club members.

News March 2017

Watch out for posters advertising the Club’s Open Day on Saturday April 22nd 2017, which will be part of the LTA’s Great British Tennis Weekend series.  The day will run between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon on the ATP courts at Brecon Leisure Centre Freedom Leisure.

 

News from the July 2016 AGM

On Tuesday July 12th 2016, the following Club Committee members were nominated:

Bryan Collins continues as Club Chairman
Tim Ashcroft continues as Club Treasurer
Paul Sinnadurai continues as Club Secretary
Katy Sinnadurai resigned as Membership Secretary; Bryan Collins was also elected as Membership Secretary.

  1. Brecon Tennis Club hosted an “I am Team GB” event on Saturday August 27th 2016.  Families had the chance to try out tennis for the first time and to get a taste of the high quality coaching offered here.
  2. The Club is very pleased to announce that it will be providing six weeks of coaching for

    I am Team GB 2016 @ Brecon Leisure Centre August 27th 2016.

    adults, starting on Tuesday September 13th 2016.  With funding provided by the LTA, Chris Hill (Head Coach) will run two sessions each week, from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm and from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.  The first hour will be for parents of mini- and junior players whilst the second hour will be for adult club members, who are encouraged to bring an adult friend(s) or family member(s) along too.

  3. A reminder to new and existing Club members who have not yet joined British Tennis.  Membership of the national governing body is free to members of LTA-affiliated Clubs such as Brecon Tennis Club.  It’s very easy to create your own membership profile via the LTA web site.  See this link for more information:  https://www.lta.org.uk/member/.  Remember, the more British Tennis members that a Club has, the larger the allocation of Wimbledon Tickets made available for the annual ballot.
  4. As a reminder, the benefits of being a member of Brecon Tennis Club include discounts on coaching by Chris Hill, the turn up and play Club night on Tuesday evenings from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, free British Tennis membership (see 3 above), discounts on other facilities at Brecon Leisure Centre and, with British Tennis membership, the opportunity to enter the annual ballot run by the LTA for tickets to the Wimbledon Championships each year.
